There are five locations in Portland, and we went to two.  Their offerings are consistently top notch, and it’s a fun place to hang out.  One of the great things about being in the Pacific northwest at the end of September is that it coincides with the hop-harvest season.  Brewers out there take full advantage of the abundance of fresh hops and create ‘fresh-hopped’ versions of many of their beers.  Who knew how much of a difference that could make?  We were lucky enough to visit one of the locations the same night they unveiled four beers – amber, saison, wheat, and pale – that had been fresh-hopped.  WOW.  They were all fantastic.  And very fresh.  I’d love to visit this place again.
