Harpoon was a very nice stop. We had obviously had several Harpoon beers and more or less knew what to expect. The taproom and garden are sparkling clean and updated, and a few hop vines are climbing around outside. This visit, we tried a kolsch, raspberry wheat, imperial ipa, imperial rye, cider, belgian pale, and pilsner. 10 AM wasn’t the ideal time of day to sample the imperials – each were around 10% – but both were nicely done. The imperial IPA is way better than their normal IPA. Also, the cider was a nice touch. Not many folks are doing ciders nowadays, but more ciders like this would be a pleasure. Dry, slightly sweet, fresh, this one is way more appropriate in the late morning.
